Parag B. Patel, MD, FACC

Dr. Parag B. Patel was born and raised in New Jersey and has been now caring for the central NJ community since 2004. He is dedicated to provide timely, compassionate patient-centered evaluation and treatment for cardiovascular problems.

Dr. Patel completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular training at Yale New Haven Hospital. He completed additional fellowship training in interventional cardiology and endovascular treatments in 2004 including carotid, renal, peripheral vascular and venous systems.

He initially was a graduate of Rutgers College of Engineering ‘91 followed by Rutgers RWJ Medical School ‘97. Subsequently, he completed both his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular fellowship at Yale-New Haven Medical Center in 2003. Also, he spent an additional year at Yale-New Haven for specialized training in coronary and vascular interventions to become proficient in complex, invasive management.

He is proficient in all aspects of adult cardiovascular care and specializes in catheter based endovascular treatments ( angioplasty and stenting) of various arterial and venous systems from head to toe. Also, Dr. Patel heads the accredited noninvasive vascular lab at Medicor Cardiology. He is also former Director of Cath lab and Chief of Cardiology at RWJ Somerset.

Currently as a physician leader, Dr Patel is involved in hospital administration as Medical Executive and actively in the management team at Medicor Cardiology. Dr. Patel has multiple board certifications including Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Vascular and Endovascular Medicine and Physician Vascular Interpretation. He is an active member of the medical staff of RWJBH Somerset and RWJBH New Brunswick for over 20 years.

Dr. Patel completed additional MBA training at Haslam College of Business at University of Tennessee in 2023. Dr. Patel has been voted NJ Top Doctor for cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology by his peers more than ten times.

In his free time, he focuses on an active, heart healthy lifestyle emphasizing on well-being and self care. He enjoys family adventures traveling throughout the world with his wife and two adult daughters. He relishes the constant pursuit of improving his golf game in the company of his friends and family.
