Physician Biography

Richard S. Leeds, MD, FACC, has been in the Somerset Medical Center community since 1987, when he joined Medicor Cardiology following his residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York.  During that time he has served as the President of the Medical Staff at Somerset Medical Center and as the first Director of the hospital’s Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.  He currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the Somerset Medical Center Foundation.

Dr. Leeds completed his internal medicine residency and was Chief Resident at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark after graduating from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY.  He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases.  He is currently a member of the medical staff at Somerset Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Morristown Medical Center.  He enjoys golf and spending time with his wife and their four children.
